Whattalife!: The Story of Contralto Kathleen Ferrier told in words and music by Lucy Stevens

Wednesday 19 June – Recital Hall, King’s Ely, The Gallery, Ely, CB7 4EW

7.30pm – £12 Adults / Children FREE

Whattalife! tells the story of one of Britain’s phenomenal women of the 20th Century. Professional actress and contralto, Lucy Stevens has created a unique and totally engaging show with text from Kathleen’s diaries and letters and music from her extensive repertoire. Many will remember her, have heard of her or will be freshly introduced to Kathleen through this charming, poignant and delightful show which portrays the vivacious, private side of her very public life and which beautifully evokes life in the 1940s and 50s. The show appeals to a wide classical and contemporary music audience and literary audience since the show features extracts from Kathleen’s many letters and diaries. The Ferrier Estate and Kathleen Ferrier Society have endorsed and fully support the show.
